The Playoffs started last night!
The final regular season game between Stow Tile and Enduring Elements
was really a playoff game, as the winner would advance to the next round.
EE called on the 20 year veteran John Musto, who hadn’t pitched in 3 years,
to silence the bats of Stow Tile. AND HE ANSWERED THE CALL!
The only runs he allowed were in a 5 run third inning, with Stow Tile
taking a 5 -1 lead.
But EE came back with 4 in the third to tie the game,
and went on to score 8 runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings
to win 13 -5.
EE ends the season with a record of 11 -7.

last thursdays action
It was a long evening of softball for the Paper Store and Stow Tile. First we finished the game from earlier in the season which was rained out during the 4th inning. The Paper Store was ahead then Stow Tile started a rally but The Paper Store was able to hold on for the win. Then we continued with regular scheduled game which had a couple of lead changes then went into extra innings but The Paper Store was able to come out victorious. We now have a record of 5-3.

The Paper Store beat the Wolverines on Tuesday night by a score of 11-1. The game started off tight with both teams going scoreless in the first 3 innings until the bats came alive for the Paper Store. Tom Anderson came close to pitching a shutout until the Wolverines scored a run in the bottom of the 7th to avoid the shut out.

Thursday's game update
Enduring Elements had a slow offensive start, and
fell behind Stow Tile & Bath 9 – 0 heading into the end of the 4th inning.
With a steady mist hanging in the air, the Elements woke up –
and scored 6 in the 4th, 5 in the 5th, and 7 in the 6th,
and hung on for an 18-13 victory.
The old timers who have been on the team for 20 years (since 1990)
(Stow Collision became Stow Kitchens & Baths became Enduring Elements)
say this is the first time ever they’ve been 5 – 1.

Retraction
I recieved more info on the Blue Coyote sponsership issue.
The sponsorship was lost, not stolen!
Lets keep it simple: The Padres frequent the Blue Coyote regularly, and have for 5 years long before they sponsored any team. On one outing to the Coyote this winter the servers and management shared that the team they sponsor never came in and that they would like to sponsor the Padres as they always come in (win or lose - and we all know it was mostly for the losing). So the Padres were approached by the Coyote. We went forward and accepted their sponsorship (with old and existing management - no convincing or stealing necessary. Afterwards, we contacted the old Coyote manager to make sure he knew...he did not. We were surprised by the Coyote for not contacting them in advance. The Padre Manager told the other team manager that they would step aside. The Padre Manager went to the Coyote in person to give back the sponsorship. The Coyote said they were not interested in sponsoring last year's team even if we returned their money. We offered to help the old team find a sponsor, but it did not make sense to have no team sponsored by the Coyote. Oh, and by the way, the "old" owners and management are the ones who made all the decisions. As far as I know, the new owners don't event take posession until March. The old owner signed the check and the old (and existing manager) spoke on behalf of last year's experience and their decision. The sponsorship was lost, not stolen!

BAD FORM
WE HAVE A SMALL LEAGUE. EVERYBODY KNOWS GUYS ON THE OTHER TEAMS AND IT IS NOT GOOD FORM TO STEAL ANOTHER TEAMS SPONSOR.
IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE STORY, THE PADRES CONVINCED THE BLUE COYOTE WHO IS UNDER KNEW MANAGEMENT TO DROP THEIR SPONSORSHIP OF THE PREVIOUS BLUE COYOTE TEAM AND TO MOVE IT TO THE PADRES.
FORGIVE ME IF i HAVE THIS WRONG, BUT IF I DON'T THIS IS NOT OK AND IT IS DISTASTEFUL.
